The Carrington continues to follow CDC and Illinois Department of Public Health guidance to keep our residents and staff as safe as possible.

Resident and Visitor Mask Policy Update Effective 7/30

Today we received Updated Interim Guidance from IDPH for communities like The Carrington. Due to concerns about variants with increased transmissibility and fully vaccinated individuals contracting COVID, all residents and visitors should practice source control (which includes wearing masks during indoor visits). Effective Friday, 7/30 all residents and visitors must wear masks in common areas. This will be effective in all areas of the community until further notice.

Revised IDPH Guidance

IDPH issued revised guidance adopting current CDC Interim Public Health Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated Individuals. This includes:

  • Fully vaccinated people who have a known exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 should be tested 3-5 days after exposure, and should wear a mask in public indoor settings for 14 days or until they receive a negative test result.
  • Fully vaccinated people should wear a mask in public indoor settings in areas of substantial or high transmission. There are four rating levels for transmission: low, moderate, substantial, and high. Cook County is rated at a moderate level as of 7/26. *If the County level increases to substantial, we will reinstate our mask policy for all residents and visitors in the community* More info is available at:
